Feelin' a bit intelligent

I was showering, and I got to thinking when my friend told me online that he was a social conservative. And then I retorted, "That's the worst kind!"
I felt kind of bad for saying it, because he was like "???" and I am like, Crap--did I offend him?

So now, I feel like I betrayed myself by somewhat apologizing, or even trying to explain myself. Yes, It Is The Worst Kind. Social Conservativism Is The Worst Kind.

In a religiously-free country, our religious freedom is not fully realized until the state learns to be secular. Having its people heed whatever religion they wish, yet imposing decidedly God-fearing laws and morals is not completely free.
Independence--where do we draw the line between freedom and moral responsibility? It is difficult to distinguish. Abortion; but is it with malicious intent? I believe in the freedom of choice. Not only is the drive to reverse Roe v. Wade one that is biblically-inspired, but it is one led by mostly men? Are we a patriarchal society? I would agree that we are. Does that need to change? I agree that it does.

But, Americans--spoiled Americans. We like to have our cake, and eat it too; an in-yo-face eat it too. We don't want to part with Christmas breaks though. That's for sure. We can always use more holidays. What I think is, go on with secular legislations, but also go ahead with celebrating culture.

It's cool.
