I saw a flyer that asks--well, something along the lines of--"Is revolution possible in America?"
I hate theoretical political questions. I don't see the point of asking such a stirring question like that. Are you trying to brew a revolution or something?
That was my rash, immediate reaction to that question.
Then I thought it over.
I guess questions like that are good to ask. But it really depends on the audience you are directing your inquiry to. I guess it's okay that they posted those flyers at a college campus, since it would be a so-called educated revolution if anything stirs up? But, what if the flyer was posted in a low-income, high-crime neighborhood brimming with social unrest? That would be like... another Watts...or LA riot.
It's sad, but it seems like we need revolution to act. Nobody ever feels the urgency until something crappy happens. Like, I guess I can apply that directly to myself. It takes something lower than a B/C to get me to study. I wish I would always be diligent and progressive and study hard...and get A's all the time! Whoo hoo!
We should all follow my ideal example. Yes, children, Listen to Me!
What a loser.
