After class today, I stayed a little while to tell my professor something. I knew she was from Monterey Park and stuff, but I thought, probably Mark Keppel alum. Oh my gosh was I IN FOR A SURPRISE. She went to Macy when it was called Grandview, and Schurr when it was a junior high.
Top it all off, when I was talking to her about American Apparel, and how I was having trouble finding a contact, a new classmate chimed in. She was so sweet. She said her relative works at the factory, and so she offered to contact her for me! And she was from East LA!
And then we walked out, talked a little about home sweet home. Eastside!!
