Will journalists survive?

I'm seriously thinking of journalism as a somehow-side-career now. But there's so much doomsday predictions for the industry. Everything is on the web. Print media is dying. Which is a rather sad event.. because a keyboard and formated screen will never replace the personality of artfully crafted print. Make sense? Probably not.

But I'm reading LA Weekly. I've been stalling for 2 weeks, because it's been that busy. Before I get into any mushy stuff, just let me praise once more the talent in these writers. Their style is so smooth, so natural, so candid. They got a knack that I want.

Quote to ponder
"They're way past stripping the paper to the bone," says Joe Segura, a 34-year veteran of the Long Beach newsroom. "They're digging for marrow now."
