Bus Stops

Last time, I encountered a crazy woman who spat and cursed at the top of her lungs. Today, I sat at the bus stop and an old man sat next to me, and started talking weird stuff off the top of his head.

Slowly he revealed himself as somebody I would normally try to avoid. But, because I had already begun to respond to him, I had to maintain friendliness. I just smiled and shook my head like I usually do when I'm in uncomfortable situations. It was rather frightening. He wreaked of what I'd assume to be alcohol. When he spoke, I smelled fetal pig from Sandate's anatomy class. He smelt of formaldehyde. And by the way he was so animated and all-over and inappropriate in what he spoke of, he seemed to be intoxicated or something. He talked of black people and Mexican people. I guess he himself was Mexican, but he was totally opposed to what he called "Aliens." Now, having taken the L.A. Cluster, I am very sensitive to such ignorance. He kept talking, and I couldn't really hear him, but I just kept "listening" and smiling. Then he said soemthing that he used to be a gang member, but it was all about respect back then. I guess he's really offended by the violence problem perpetuated by gangs.

I think I need to learn to be more selective and careful in speaking with strangers. Very ironically, and almost scarily, he told me to watch out who I speak with. Next time I'm learning to shut my mouth. Also, he had very weird eyes; they were dull and grayed and browned.
you could tell he's had a rough life. But funnily he was bragging about how rich he was. Don't know if that was the truth or a lie, but it was just random he would tell me how many cars he had. He was racist. The next time I see him, if he tries to talk to me again, I have to be honest and learn how to deal with such people, and tell them how uncomfortable I feel about hatred spewing from their mouths. It's deeply genuinely intimidating.
