WORD

Watching MSNBC. Hardball. Hate that Matthews guy, he's obnoxious, but his guests are talking, and bring up an excellent point about Obama. Obama is growing to be a role model for me. He is really about change. He really believes in it, and is so passionate about it. He seems like he doesn't just say it to get votes, he says it as a goal that he will strive to accomplish. Colbert said something about candidates always preaching lies. He mocked by saying "Change that actually happens." But Obama seems like, even if change doesn't really happen while he is in office, you can count on it that he actually will try to make it happen.

But anyways, back to Hardball. They were saying that Obama is one of the few presidential candidates since JFK to be a thinker. It's true. He's philosophical and that makes his oratory so superior. He thinks about things as an anthropologist, I feel. And it is true, because yesterday, I forget what I was watching, they were praising him for not being expedient and ethnocentric in evaluating foreign policy. He knows that cultures differ and must be treated relatively. Just because a culture is not American, it doesn't mean that it's evil. Just because some countries are not Democratic, it does not mean that their governments are inferior. It does not mean we rush into Iraq to find WMD's, and fail and return to excuse the invasion as "bringing Democracy to people." It's so similar to Christian missionaries' crusades. "Civilizing savages." This is so disgusting. Is democracy becoming a Religion? Political freedom. Irony.
