I would be sadder about the Lakers loss had they been expected to win. But it just didn’t feel like a Championship year. No electric energy. Lakers definitely didn’t look ready. It wasn’t their year. They didn’t know how to react to getting to the Finals. Pau and the bench are so green, and it totally looked like they got scared and forgot how to play. They looked utterly confused out there. The one thing I don’t understand is how bottom-seeded Eastern Conference teams could stretch the Celtics out to seven games, and the Lakers struggled throughout all six games. I guess it is a lot of pressure to put on young players who are used to mediocrity. The Celtics had star players who fought through suckiness and had a hunger to win. But the Lakers team is full of young players who haven’t developed that tired-of-losing hunger for victory. So I don’t blame them. I look forward to next year.

Reading L.A. Weekly to drone out the sound of those irritating commentators and arena people. They are so annoying. Laker fans don't sound like that; I'm serious. It's a more beautiful, harmonious, high-pitched cheer. The way a cheer is supposed to be. These dumb fans just sound derisive. The commentators are so boring and Sam Van Gundy. He can be funny, by being really stupid and caustic, but he has the ugliest voice. And Paul Pierce. I hate that guy and his dumb acting. He went down as though he was hurt, had people carrying him to the locker room, and looking like he had died or something. And then comes back. He just wanted to get the crowd riled up. You could tell it was all drama.

Anyways, I'm reading an article about that 17-year old kid who got shot. This was some gang-related crap again. The alleged shooter was an illegal immigrant. This law that they're trying to write up reverses Special Order 40, "which instructs Los Angeles cops not to ask the immigration status of anyone unless he or she has already been arrested." This should raise a flag. It doesn't make sense. The foremost problem in this tragedy is the state of gang warfare in L.A. It is not so much about illegal immigrants. The most outstanding attribute being promoted about the killer is his being an illegal immigrant. Red flag! The story is supposed to be that he is a Crip and Jamiel associated with the Bloods. That's the real story. At least it should be.

This is why problems never get solved. Because we are always evading the real root of evil, and focused on distractions. Illegal immigrants have been painted such a poor image. They are still people. The only reason why they want to come to America is to improve their prospects. That's an honorable intention. Illegal immigrants contribute a great deal to the L.A. economy. Instead everyone tries to find a way to turn illegals into cold-blooded killers, glass-eyed moochers.

Our priorities are not in the right place. We are in a wrong state of mind.

You are WRONG Hardinger

Stop with these Lakers Haters coming my way already. All these people who believe that the Lakers winning is just Kobe, or "mainly" Kobe and demeans team effort. Oh gosh, I want to slap you silly!

Like Prof. Hardinger. I mean, I'm glad you used the Lakers in your example, and it certainly makes me more interested in your teaching material. But please don't degrade the Lakers TEAM. It is a lot of Kobe, but without the rest of my Lakers--BENCH MOB included!--the Lakers would be nowhere near where they are right now. Can you say PAU? LO has stepped his game way up; Jordan and Sasha have improved immensely since last year; Luke gets better in the playoffs; Vlade's okay, but he sure shoots well; and what can you say about DFISH--Altruistic, puts his body on the line, ready to take the charge, ready to dive for the loose balls.

That is a Dream Team. Lakers 0708, baby!

Lakers are HOTT

The Lakers have been awesome! Kobe got his MVP trophy yesterday. I really wish I were there. I don't understand why the frickin Busses have to jack up the tickets so that it's impossible for a working class man or woman to go to a Lakers game. You got to be filthy rich to regularly go to Lakers games. It sucks.

But anyways, I want to say, I am a proud Lakers fan. It's such an experience. So many people in it together. It is a Religion, except it's an inclusive Religion. I guess that's the kind of experience religious people have. Except the theistic one is entirely intellectually wrong. Lakers is pure, essential entertainment. Being a Lakers fan is about routing for the hometeam. The Clippers are not the hometeam. That's my zeal speaking. That's what fanaticism is about--sticking by your team, ecstatic at victory, morose at defeat. It's such a feeling.

When Kobe won his award, all his fans probably got goosebumps. And if you didn't you are not emotionally-involved enough to call yourself a fan. You are still a bandwagon. Also, Something about bandwagon. I hate bandwagon with a passion. Don't watch and don't care just because they're winning. Stick with your frickin team thick and thin, you flip-flop. I admit, sometimes I stop watching games when there's no possible way for the team to win. But I've followed the Lakers between 2004-2007 when they were a subpar team. I kept up with them, I made sure that I saw games when I could, and I made sure I knew when they were playing, and the scores, and who excelled. You are a fan when the team consumes you. When the team becomes a part of you. You are an extension of the team, and vice versa.

There is emotion, energy, and commitment involved in being a fan. And that, is what, you fat pig, need to learn.

Lakers teachin' valuable life lessons

I am sorry, Mitch Kupchak. I am sorry Jerry Buss. I have failed as a Lakers fan. I trash-talked you both. It's a shameful admission. I now understand shipping out Shaq. I also am barely beginning to understand losing seasons.

It's about change. You Lakers--you are so liberal.
Screw the status quo.
Be patient. Wait for greatness.
Early failure is worth later greatness.

Lakers & my BFF!

Well I'm ecstatic that the Lakers have a talented core that can win. They have always shown talent and promise, but I guess they were lacking the confidence. Games nowadays, you can totally see that they are more energetic and hungry! Back in the day, Jerry West's team--Kobe, Shaq--Laker fans expected their team to win all the games. Then the Mitch Kupchak years, that really initiated when he traded Shaq off--Laker fans hoped their team would win some games. And now, with Pau Gasol, Laker fans are once more lifted--we have expectations. The Lakers Story is really the Pau Gasol Story. In Memphis, he never even hoped to win; I mean, Let's Be Honest. Then coming to the Lakers, he was all excited to be on a winning team. Same with Laker fans. Pau. Returning the favor.

Now on to my best friend. I have one. Linda. You know, that Kip girl? I've had these awesome future plans. We should move into a high-rise loft in downtown--be all green and whatnot, living in one of those environmentally-conscious architectural wonders, not use cars and bus it everywhere, walk to work--whatever. Promise me, you must return to L.A. after college. I can't imagine any liberal (and that, my friend, you are) wanting to live in stuck-up O.C.

If you can't already tell, I have a lot of Angeleno pride; I almost wish I wasn't born in Monterey Park--but we're within 6 miles of Downtown. I love I love I love I love I love.

Seriously, I want to kill somebody who wants to play it off as though she is a Laker fan, but is totally exposed because she doesn't check her facts. It's so obvious that he was not participating because of his torn ligament in his right pinky. I mean, maybe if you said "All-Star Game," you would have been a little okay. But that you said "Three Point Challenge," and mind you, on SATURDAY, even when he pulled out of that thing a million years ago!--your silly silly ignorance did you in, Girl!
