I watched Countdown yesterday, and it's becoming quite an enjoyable show to watch; it's like a mature version of Jon Stewart. For me, it's slowly taking over Stewart in my heart, because yes, sometimes, I am too old for Jon Stewart. Sometimes he does make crackhead jokes that are so unfunny. And sometimes he isn't funny, and during his interviews there are awkward silences with his guests. But I still love that guy.
Anyways, Keith Olbermann is great. Some guy from Batman was on his show yesterday, and he said, "I watch your show with a dictionary next to me." That's so true. Because sometimes I tune out of watching Olbermann because I can't understand what he says. And that Rachel woman that fills in for him. Maddow or whatever her last name is. But I wouldn't think a dictionary could even help me, because I probably can't even spell the words he says.
Anyway, he talked about Scott McClellan on Hardball. McClellan was one of Bush's pressmen, and he revealed that the White House fed material for Fox News Network as talking points. Yikes, what retards. But that was so awesome. Somebody from the inside totally destructing the Bush Admin and exposing it for what it really was. Remember Melnitz? Or whatever his name was, saying that the Bush Admin is really the first American presidential regime not to have the American people's goodwill in their intentions? Oh that was a precious commentary.
And at school on Thursday, I received my grades for my intro speech and my lesson speech. The first one, I talked about fundamentalist-tainted government versus secularism, the second one, I talked about rearranging my beliefs, going beyond biased culture to see problems in an objective light in order to come up with practical solutions (i.e. legalizing prostitution for administrative purposes). I got a B on both of them. I guess I don't mind the B in the second speech. But for my intro speech, he wrote a comment that said "Just a little bit of yourself." How is explaining the root of all my beliefs (secularism) "just a little bit of myself"? I am kind of mad at that grade. Just because I didn't say "I believe, I believe..." just the fact that I chose to talk about that subject should have revealed quite a deal about me. I'm offended that he said that was revealing just a little about me. Because secularism really is the basis of all my beliefs.
For my next speech, the informative one, I'm doing a car culture history of Los Angeles. I said I would focus on parking, but I don't know if I should or if I want to find all that information, just on parking. We'll see how research turns out.
I'm hungry. Time for dinner.
